Alamo Group buys UK road-maintenance maker Econ for £120M
Texas-based Alamo Group acquired Econ Engineering Group, a Ripon, North Yorkshire manufacturer of gritters, de-icing vehicles and road repair equipment founded in 1969, for £120 million (about $158.7 million), subject to adjustments. Econ also runs a rental fleet of about 1,300 vocational trucks.
Why it matters: The deal expands Alamo's Industrial Equipment portfolio and strengthens its UK platform.
