ANTA closes $1.7B Puma stake, becoming its largest shareholder

China's ANTA Sports completed its purchase of a 29.06% stake in Puma from Artémis, the Pinault family's investment company, for €1.5055 billion (about $1.7 billion) in cash. ANTA will seek supervisory board representation and says it has no plans to make a takeover offer.

Why it matters: ANTA, already owner of Fila and majority holder of Amer Sports, gains major influence over Puma as the German brand works through a turnaround.
