Argent acquires $19B public funds custody book

Argent Financial Group, through Argent Trust Company and Argent Institutional Trust Company, acquired a public funds custody book with roughly 42 relationships and more than $19 billion in assets under administration, plus its client services team. The deal gives Argent its first Greater Boston office. The seller was not named.
