CD&R and McKesson to take Option Care Health private for $5.8B
Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and McKesson agreed to acquire Option Care Health for $32.05 per share in a deal valued at about $5.8 billion. CD&R will hold majority ownership, while McKesson invests roughly $1.4 billion for about 49%, with a framework to potentially buy CD&R's stake later. Option Care shares jumped about 34%.
Why it matters: The deal takes private the largest independent home and alternate-site infusion provider and gives McKesson a path to full ownership down the road.
