Epiq acquires breach-response software maker Canopy

Legal services provider Epiq has acquired Canopy, a data breach response technology company whose patented platform identifies exposed sensitive data and affected individuals. Canopy's engineers and cyber specialists join Epiq, with former COO Adi Elliott becoming VP of product management for cyber, and the platform will be folded into the Epiq AI suite. Terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters: Epiq already supports more than 1,800 cyber incidents a year, and owning the underlying review technology moves it up the value chain in agentic-AI-driven incident response.

UK's CMA accepts Brink's remedy for NCR Atleos deal in principle

The UK Competition and Markets Authority accepted in principle Brink's proposal to divest NoteMachine/TestLink UK, avoiding a Phase 2 review of its planned acquisition of NCR Atleos. Brink's is in talks with several prospective buyers and still expects to close early in the first quarter of 2027, with $200 million in annual run-rate cost synergies.
