Midea completes controlling stake buy in Italy's Esaote

China's Midea Group has completed its acquisition of a controlling stake in Esaote, a Genoa-based medical imaging company known for ultrasound and dedicated MRI. Esaote will join Midea Healthcare, operate independently and stay under CEO Franco Fontana. Terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters: Midea pushes further into medtech by pairing its DR, MRI, CT and DSA lineup with a premium European imaging brand.
