Midea completes majority stake purchase in Italian imaging firm Esaote
Chinese technology group Midea has completed its acquisition of a majority stake in Esaote, the Genoa-based medical imaging company. Esaote will join Midea's Healthcare Division but keep operating as an independent global medical equipment company. Its R&D and production sites in Italy and the Netherlands remain in place.
Why it matters: The deal pairs Midea's radiology, MRI, CT and angiography lineup with Esaote's premium brand and strengthens a Chinese conglomerate's foothold in global medical imaging.
