Nippon Express completes Metro Supply Chain acquisition

Japan's NX Group has completed its acquisition of Montreal-based third-party logistics provider Metro Supply Chain. Metro will keep its name and management in Canada, the U.S. and the UK, and founder Chiko Nanji stays on as Group Chairman. Terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters: The deal gives NX a stronger North American contract logistics foothold as global forwarders keep buying regional 3PLs.
