Nortera and B&G Foods scrap Green Giant Canada deal after Bureau challenge
B&G Foods and Quebec-based Nortera Foods ended their agreement on October 6 for Nortera to buy B&G's Green Giant and Le Sieur businesses in Canada after the Competition Bureau moved to block it. B&G said it will keep exploring other options for its Canadian Green Giant vegetable business.
Why it matters: It is a clear win for Canada's Competition Bureau and leaves B&G looking for another exit from the Canadian business.
