Platinum Equity to acquire propane distributor EDP

Platinum Equity signed a deal to buy Chicago-based EDP, one of the largest independent US propane distributors, serving more than 200,000 customers from 60-plus locations in 24 states. Terms weren't disclosed.

Why it matters: Platinum plans to back further acquisitions in a fragmented, route-based propane market it calls resilient and essential.
