Uber pays $2.3B in cash for catering marketplace ezCater
Uber is buying ezCater, a U.S. platform for catering and workplace meals, in an all-cash deal valued at $2.3 billion. ezCater generated over $2.5 billion in gross bookings over the past 12 months and was bootstrapped for seven years before its first outside round.
Why it matters: It extends Uber Eats into large business orders as Uber also works to buy Delivery Hero for $15 billion.
