Vinci Compass to buy Latin American reinsurer AustralRe

Nasdaq-listed alternative investments firm Vinci Compass will acquire all of AustralRe, an independent Brazilian reinsurance platform operating in 16 Latin American countries that its partners co-founded in 2011. AustralRe posted R$3.0 billion in gross written premiums over the last twelve months and held about R$1.8 billion in cash and investments.

Why it matters: The deal gives Vinci Compass a permanent capital base to support long-term growth across Latin America.
