Fairfax and the Weston family's Wittington buy Boots for $8.9B

Fairfax Financial is partnering with Wittington Investments, the Weston family's holding company, to acquire Boots' UK and Ireland retail operations, Boots Opticians, the No7 Beauty Company, and Boots' Thailand and franchised businesses. The total purchase price is about $8.9 billion, including assumed debt.
