Intel to buy Israeli quantum software firm Classiq for about $2.2B
Intel signed a definitive agreement to acquire Classiq, a Tel Aviv-based quantum computing software company. SiliconANGLE put the price at $2.2 billion, though Intel didn't disclose terms and another outlet reported about $2.3 billion in cash and stock. The deal awaits regulatory approval.
Why it matters: It would be Intel's second-largest acquisition after Mobileye and pairs Classiq's hardware-agnostic platform with Intel's spin-qubit work to make Intel a full-stack quantum provider.
