Japan's Umios to buy High Liner Foods at a 79% premium

Umios agreed to acquire Canadian seafood company High Liner Foods for C$27.00 per share in cash, a roughly 79% premium, valuing equity at about C$804 million and enterprise value at C$1.25 billion. Holder Thornridge, with about 41.4% of shares, has agreed to vote in favor.

Why it matters: High Liner becomes the core of Umios' North American expansion, pairing its Alaska pollock access with High Liner's brands and processing.
