Nvidia weighs buyout, acquihire or bigger stake in Reflection AI
Nvidia is in early talks to acquire open-weight model developer Reflection AI or deepen its investment, the Financial Times reports. An agreement could come within weeks, though talks could still collapse. Options include an outright purchase, a larger stake paired with chip supply, or an acquihire that would likely avoid lengthy regulatory review. Nvidia has invested $800 million in Reflection, whose latest round closed at a $25 billion pre-money valuation.
Why it matters: It would follow Nvidia's reported $20B Groq licensing deal and its $12.9B Hugging Face purchase, extending the chipmaker's push into the AI model layer.
