Amazon in talks to buy AI startup Decart for up to $7B

$7BStrategic acquisitionTechnologyRumored

Amazon is reportedly negotiating to acquire Decart.ai in a deal that could be worth up to $7 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. A deal could come within days if talks hold and no rival suitor emerges. Decart, founded in 2023 by three Israeli engineers, raised $300 million at a $4 billion valuation in May. Its DOS software helps developers optimize AI models to run across different processors.

Why it matters: Tools that let AI workloads move between chips are increasingly valuable as companies scramble for compute, and Amazon would be paying roughly 75% above Decart's May valuation.

Nvidia weighs buyout, acquihire or bigger stake in Reflection AI

Nvidia is in early talks to acquire open-weight model developer Reflection AI or deepen its investment, the Financial Times reports. An agreement could come within weeks, though talks could still collapse. Options include an outright purchase, a larger stake paired with chip supply, or an acquihire that would likely avoid lengthy regulatory review. Nvidia has invested $800 million in Reflection, whose latest round closed at a $25 billion pre-money valuation.
