Siris to buy 19.1% of Agfa-Gevaert from Active Ownership
Private equity firm Siris Capital has agreed to acquire a 19.1% stake in Euronext Brussels-listed Agfa-Gevaert from Active Ownership, on undisclosed terms. The move follows Siris's earlier agreement to combine Agfa's Digital Printing Solutions business with portfolio company EFI, a venture Siris will own 60% of and Agfa 40%. The stake purchase is conditioned on that combination closing.
Why it matters: Siris is converting a carve-out partnership into a board-level shareholder position, gaining exposure to Agfa's cloud-shifting HealthCare IT arm as well as the inkjet joint venture.
