Vicat in exclusive talks to buy Cemex's southeast France concrete business
France's Vicat signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire Cemex's ready-mix concrete and aggregates subsidiaries in south-eastern France, covering 48 concrete plants, nine aggregates quarries, related services and certain joint-venture interests across the Rhône Valley and PACA region. Completion is targeted before December 31, 2026, subject to works council consultation and competition approval.
Why it matters: Cemex keeps pruning its European footprint while Vicat bolts on downstream volumes that feed its cement business.
