GE Vernova buys grid equipment maker Trench Group from Triton for $9B
GE Vernova agreed to buy Trench Group, a high-voltage grid equipment maker, from Triton Partners for $9 billion, announcing the deal with its third-quarter results. Trench serves more than 800 utility and hyperscaler customers with bushings, instrument transformers and coils. The deal brings about $5 billion in backlog and framework agreements and is expected to close in late 2027.
Why it matters: GE Vernova is building out its fast-growing Electrification segment to ride rising power demand as gas turbine order growth slows.
