Waters acquires ion-mobility pioneer MOBILion Systems

Life sciences and diagnostics company Waters bought MOBILion Systems, whose SLIM ion mobility technology separates complex molecules. Waters will pair it with its Xevo MRT mass spectrometry for proteomics biomarker discovery and AI-scale data generation. Terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters: Waters is targeting a $2 billion LC-MS proteomics market growing at a high single-digit rate.
