The Daily Buyout

13 deals · $8.6B announced

Happy Monday. Building-materials giant CRH kicked off the week's deal flow by closing its $8.5 billion purchase of Arcosa, a deal big enough to reshuffle an S&P index. Behind it are a busy slate of completions in sensors, fraud-fighting AI and fashion, plus a fresh SPAC letter of intent and a REIT sale moving through the courts.

$8.5BStrategic acquisitionMaterials & ChemicalsCompleted

CRH, the building-materials leader, has completed its acquisition of Arcosa, a U.S. provider of aggregates and critical infrastructure products, at a total enterprise value of about $8.5 billion. The deal was first announced on June 22, 2026, and closed October 23. With Arcosa gone, Howard Hughes Holdings will replace it in the S&P SmallCap 600 before trading opens on October 28.

Why it matters: CRH says the deal is highly complementary and advances its aggregates-led, connected portfolio strategy in the U.S. infrastructure market.
